That is the opening paragraph in a great article about the competition between Monsanto and DuPont who supply most of the corn and soybean seeds to U.S. farmers. In the previous post Professor Datta speaks about the need for even more advancements in the genetic engineering of plants if there is to be a chance of feeding the world in 2050 when he believes there will be 10 billion people looking for food.
